[Because You Asked]

Joe Kennedy

I'm a graduate of the University of Mobile and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. After Hurricane Katrina I moved back to Mobile, Alabama for nine months, but returned to the Crescent City in June 2006. Two years to the day after that, I left New Orleans for an eleven month detox in Fort Worth, [Republic of] Texas. Now I'm back in Mobile.

I love to travel and I rarely leave home without my Canon EOS 40D. I've been to 35 states, 3 provinces, and a few countries. While living in Fort Worth I realized that being within short driving distance of a large body of salt water is important to me.

[Things I Do]

I'm a writer and a photographer, and you can hire me for local photography- from New Orleans to Pensacola. Please use the contact form (by clicking "contact" above) to get a hold of me. I'm happy to work with you on prices. I'll do events, but I prefer not to do weddings unless they're for friends.

(And a few started by friends.) Now, after half a day of researching, I’m asking you to help me fill in the white space....

The Gospel Immunization…

[This post is a rewrite of one previously published in 2005.]
About four years ago I went on a youth mission trip to AtlantaFest. On the first afternoon, we went out to a few neighborhoods to throw an impromptu backyard bible club event. My group visited a Hispanic neighborhood. Most of the kids...

[First UMC: Fort Worth]

Since nobody seems interested in discussing my previous post, and I’ve got plans for the rest of this week and all of next, here are some photos of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, Texas.  Located in downtown Fort Worth, it’s one of the most photogenic buildings in the city.  No wonder so many...

The Sanctity of Marriage…

Today, April 27, is the first day that gay marriage is officially legal in Iowa.  That Iowa was among the states providing equal marriage opportunity could be considered a surprise, since the state often leans toward the conservative.  I came across Nate Silver’s prediction of when each state will eventually legalize gay marriage.  Not surprisingly,...
