VP Candidates on Abortion…

I am pro-life. While during this election, I support a Democratic pro-choice candidate for the office of President of the United States, I am secure in my position against abortion. That said, Governor Palin’s response to Katie Couric in the video embedded above is one of the reasons I cannot and do not consider this one singular issue to be the driving force behind my vote this year. [Her part is about half-way through the video, after Joe Biden's response.] She offers that her position is that abortion should be a state issue, not a federal one. I disagree. My position is that we should have a federal ban on abortion, except in particular and very specific instances (i.e., if the life of both is in danger otherwise).
She’s also not very well versed on other Supreme Court cases that she’d be against. I’ll admit, I tried the test myself, and the only other prominent case that came to mind was the Scopes-Monkey Trial, in which Creation was banned from public schools. However, that was tried in the Tennessee Supreme Court, and became a precedent nationally. It wouldn’t count. There are others that vaguely come to mind, but I couldn’t name or describe them. Of course, I’m not running for Vice President, either.
