Quickshots [08.05.08]…

Well, I really do hate mind dump posts, but this is what you’re going to get for now.
- I haven’t been blogging as much lately because it’s always so dang hot in the room where I have my computer. Tonight is the first night it’s been below 79 degrees in here since before I moved in. The sun decided to move into my apartment with me, but doesn’t pay rent. I imagine it will be much more helpful in December… but right now I’d like to lock it out.
- I haven’t seen an ant in over a week now. I’ve still killed a few spiders, but the spiders I can handle. Let’s not jinx it… nowhammynowhammynowhammy!
- I’ve only got a few more papers to go… and then I’m done until… August 18th or so.
- I applied online for a job with an Apple store. They have two in the Fort Worth area (one or both opening soon).
- We’re going on what must be about 30 straight days over 100 degrees here. It did rain tonight, and a little bit last week. It’s like nature is mocking us.
- There’s a tiny part of me tempted to go back to letting Twitter post my daily updates as an actual blog post, just to keep something updated here. But I won’t, because it would be redundant.
I’ve got a lot of posts coming, assuming what I’m doing works out. I’m in the process of interviewing some guys I know who have either planted a church, are planting a church, or are about to plant a church. It should give me (and you) a good idea of the stages of planting from a 4D point of view (past, present, future).
Likewise, I’m working on interviewing a couple friends who have left the church. I want them to discuss their journey out of orthodox Christianity, and share their thoughts on the church today. Expect those to come in the next few weeks as well.
I’ve also got a few other post ideas that I want to start working on. Just think of this as a preview of what’s to come. Hopefully I’ll find a way not to disappoint.

I’m pretty sure you are living where you’re living because of the abundant ops for servant/relational evangelism. I’ve been thinking about it since the tweet about the neighbor working on his car in the middle of the night, and how that may have been a good shot to give him a Coke or something else cold and introduce yourself . . .
Life isn’t random, and today is always a great learning lab for what we’re going to be doing soon.

If you want, I’ll connect you with my friends, Miller and Agent B, in Abilene re. the church thing.
