Quickshots [05.27.08]…

I usually don’t like these “mind dump” posts, but I understand that sometimes you’re just too busy to write a whole post on each thought. And since I’m in the middle of a week long workshop (Old Testament Exegesis of Jeremiah, Monday through Friday, 9-11:30, 1-4), I’m not in a position to post much. You may or may not be surprised to learn that I won’t be posting much next week either. Or maybe even the week after that. It’s all explained in the bullet points.
- On Saturday my dad and brother will come to New Orleans to help me pack up the last of my stuff and move it back to Mobile, Alabama. Then sometime next week, Dad and I will go to Fort Worth to help me find an apartment, go back to Alabama, pick up my things, and move up there. I’m hoping this doesn’t take more than a week, but I’m not expecting a miracle.
- I got a new camera, and Dad took my old one. I’m now shooting with a Canon EOS 40D. I’d be more excited if I had time to do something with it.
- It’s pretty fun to pack things in boxes. It’s not fun to carry them downstairs and load them into my car.
- After four years in seminary, the first time I really experienced syllabus shock was a few weeks ago when I got the plan for my Missionary Anthropology independent study. But it was in a good way. Best missions class I’ll ever take. Taught by a New Testament scholar.
- More missions classes at NOBTS should be like Missionary Anthropology. They should use this as the foundation and introduction class… instead it’s only offered once every three years and I’m not sure if it’s ever been taught by someone in the missions program. I just don’t understand.
- That’s all for now.
