Annapolis [Wednesday]…

This morning I explored Annapolis Towne/Harbour Centre and the nearby mall. They’re constructing these massive town homes in Parole, a suburb west of Annapolis. I had breakfast/lunch at Subway, then hit Caffe Pronto for some coffee. The Caffe Pronto near my hotel closes very early, but because it was recommended, I made an effort to visit. After driving around taking some video for a project, I drove up to the Arundel Baptist Association offices for a meeting with John Brittain, the DOM. He’s a NOBTS graduate too, and knew half the references on my resume. Sweet!
The meeting was fruitful, and when I left I drove down to Eastport, a neighborhood on the south side of Annapolis across the creek from downtown. While I was there I checked out First Baptist Church of Eastport, which is looking for a pastor.
Eastport is a great community with a nice sense of humor. It’s a place I think I could appreciate- the neighborhood around FBCE is primarily made up of young professionals and families with younger children. It’s got a marina, a small park, and an elementary school right there, and it’s still easily within walking distance of Main Street in Annapolis. I took a stroll around the neighborhood, and I took some photos.
I saw some flowers that were very pretty.
I saw some amazingly nice houses. In fact, the whole downtown area of Annapolis and Eastport looks like this road scene. Old. Nice. Somewhere I’d like to live. Tomorrow I’m going to drive up to Severn for a conference, where I’ll meet David Phillips and several other important people.

Beautiful stuff. We really do need to get together soon. Can’t believe you’ll be leaving N.O. soon!

Howie, you let me know when you’ll be free, and we’ll work it out. I’m free this coming Saturday… the one after tomorrow.
