A Stressful Week…
March 12, 2008 | 11:58 AM
You’ve learned by now that I keep my family off the blog, for the most part, but today I wanted to ask you to pray for them. It’s been a long week that started with my dad’s back surgery on Monday morning. He’s fine, harassing nurses, and asking for them to hook up his Nintendo Wii to the hospital room TV. Typical dad.
Tomorrow, my mom goes in to see the doctor. You may remember that she battled breast cancer last year, and she’s through with the chemo and radiation therapies. But the other week they found something in her liver, and they’re concerned about it. We’ll know the results of tests tomorrow (Thursday).
Here’s a picture of my family. That’s me in the yellow- so the photo is circa 1981-82. Lovely. (Since you’re going to ask: no, I wasn’t adopted, and yes, my brothers are 19 and 17 years older than me.)
[Update]: She’s fine. Both are home and doing well. Dad answered the phone with a weak voice the other day, and I said, “Try again.” He asked (in his normal voice), “Why doesn’t anyone believe me?” It’s because we know better. Gotta love dad for trying, though.

With pleasure.
Your mother is beautiful, Joe.

I am definitely, and will continue to be, praying for you and your family. Keep updated as you are able.
Hey, my oldest sister is 19 years older than me and my brother is 16 years older (I also have another sister, whom I’m very close to, who is about 3 1/2 years older than me). It’s rare to meet another person who has siblings so much older. My mom always said she had two families. And that she really wanted four kids, and asked God for four; she just failed to tell God how to space them out, so he got creative!
Ain’t that the truth.

So?

And, by, “so?”, I meant about your mum and not about Lu’s comment!
Hah!
