Pray for Union University…

If you’re willing to take a few minutes to pray for the students at Union University (website down as of this post) in Jackson, Tennessee, I’m sure they’ll appreciate it. There’s been a major tornado there, and it’s done a lot of damage. A lot of students are shaken up, and the campus is pretty trashed, I’m told. Pray for the students and their families.
Our current pastor’s daughter is a student there, and our former pastor’s son is as well. Pray for the Stewarts and Shaddixes if you can, or if you know the families I’m referring to.

our lead musician, his wife, our drummer and his wife all are recent union grads. they’ve been following the story pretty closely and said that the school was hit really, really bad. reminds me of nobts getting hit during katrina…

Will do. Thanks for sharing this. I didn’t know. Bill Nettles comments on my blog a lot and he is there.

My daughter Paige Ward is a student at Union and I am so thankful that all the kids survived! She is shook up but will be fine. I am praying for all the other students and my daughter because I know it has been really hard on them.
Thanks Rena Wright

There’s a lot of information at the Jackson Sun and at the Baptist Press Blog. Hopefully that’ll help you if you’re interested in keeping up with the details.
We praise God that Bethany was safe and she was one of the few who didn’t lose her car or much of her things in the dorm. She’s in a good position to help her students, having been through Katrina in New Orleans too.
A lot of us seminary students and New Orleanians can sympathize with Union today.
