The Hope of John [Conclusion]…

Consider the implications of John 1:1-18—the Creator God we meet in Genesis, who existed before everything, came to Earth in the form of Jesus to live full of grace and truth as the light that eradicates darkness, humbled himself to the point of death on the cross and raised himself up on the third day so that all humanity might be given the hope of salvation, and that we might recognize the sheer magnitude of his glory and power and worship him accordingly. Our hope is in Christ alone.

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, who lived perfectly, was crucified, and resurrected so that the final sacrifice would be made on our behalf and the light of the grace of God could overcome the darkness of man. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Time and time again we’ve seen people rebel against God, and God has offered a chance at redemption. It takes faith in Jesus of Nazareth—the lamb of God who was lifted up on a cross so that all who believed in him could have eternal life.

My prayer is that over the last couple weeks you went up on the mountain and beheld the glory that is the Creator of all things, that you gazed into the eyes of the living Word who dwelt among us, and that you chose to follow Jesus, full of grace and truth, who brought hope to a hopeless world. The purpose of this series was to draw us closer to Christ. I ask that you meditate on John’s words. Think on the sovereignty of God; see the world’s response to the glory of our savior; and become a voice hope to the world.
