Regarding Texas Hwy 6…

Date April 17, 2007 | 12:19 AM

I love Texas.  On my way from the wedding to Waco where I stayed the night, I drove through some of the most beautiful land I’ve ever seen.  The way the sun glinted off the gorgeous green grass, yellow flowers and bluebonnets, all placed in the fields on rolling hills, for just a moment, made me feel like I was in some kind of movie.  Absent from the scenery was the mysterious and ominous swamp that I can’t seem to escape here in Louisiana.  Nowhere in sight were the pine trees that black out the skies in Alabama and Mississippi.  No, like a true Mardi Gras, the vivid colors of green, purple, and yellow abounded in the fields that surrounded me.  Great blue skies and a pond that reflected the great glory of God’s creation with a blur reminded me of the joy I find in this… wonderful world.  And I didn’t stop to take a picture.

Sorry Joe, that should have said “now” rather than “not.”

You are most welcome to come back to Texas anytime.

How was HWY 6 Speed wise,
I’m looking at taking HWY 6 from Houston to Waco to Dallas,
Instead of taking the interstate (45) Straight to Dallas,
it’s about and extra 40 miles, But I’m hoping to make it up on lack of construction and scenic value,
    Let me know
    Thanks

    Marc,

the speed limit is 70 most of the way. smooth driving, a little construction. two lane but with a wide shoulder for passing.
