Tagged, Not Tasered…

MO got tagged by Adam. MO tagged me. Now I’m supposed to give five random facts about myself. At least one of these will relate to something MO said. You can guess which one.

I was the ring boy at my oldest brother’s first wedding and the best man at his second. I looked cute in those tails the first time though.

I was about three merit badges and an Eagle project away from being an Eagle Scout, but we moved to Alabama and I never finished. My dad was almost an Eagle Scout too, but his dad died and he had to quit.

My friend and I drove from Auburn, Alabama to Columbus, Georgia to find a Blimpie Subs restaurant. The three hour endeavour included a stop at a CVS Pharmacy where I asked a very large woman if she knew “where the Blimpie is.” My friend laughed loudly from across the store and I realized what I’d asked. I elaborated that it was a subway shop, and escaped with my life. Also on the trip we stole a Bush-Chaney 2000 sign from a law office lawn, and only found the Blimpie an hour before it closed. It wasn’t good food.

My senior English teacher in high school kept McDonald’s applications in his desk drawer for people he thought wouldn’t make it (or who made dumb comments and deserved it). One day he asked where I was going to college. When I replied, “Auburn,” he said it was a shame because he could have found a job for me at the Mobile Theatre Guild, in which he was heavily involved. It was one of the most flattering and encouraging moments of my life.

My first solo (which I credit for removing all fear of crowds) came my sophomore year in high school. My one line? “Did she put up a fight?” from the Grease medley. Two years later I quit our Big Show presentation of Grease to run the lights instead.
