Christian Ministry in the 21st Century…

Date October 20, 2006 | 12:10 AM

In the next month and a half, I’m going to be working on a project for my class (Christian Ministry in the 21st Century) that deals with the issues pastors, church planters, and missionaries are dealing with in their ministry context. Some of you who read this will actually be getting e-mails or phone calls regarding this (since I need 3 to 5 interviews). I thought that it was a good enough project that I’d post my interview questions here for the rest of you to answer and discuss. I’m not sure I’ll be able to put it into my project, but I’m sure it’ll help me see the big picture. On to the questions:

  • What are the most pressing theological issues you are facing?
  • What are the most significant changes taking place, or issues in the ministry context (church planting, collegiate ministry, pastoring, mission field)?
  • What are the most significant ministry disciplines for your area of ministry?
  • What do you see are the most significant emerging issues in your ministry context?
  • What encompasses success in that ministry?
  • If you attended seminary, in what ways did it not prepare you for your ministry?

Think about these and get back to me. And remember, some of you may be asked to go into detail at a later point. Thanks.
