A Time to Heal…

Date May 21, 2006 | 2:49 PM

“This is a great day for the city of New Orleans,” Nagin said at his campaign headquarters. “This election is over, and it’s time for this community to start the healing process.”

Do what?  So that’s why they’re cleaning the city up so slowly.  They were still in mourning.  But now, eight and a half months post-Katrina (read: the day after the election), we’re allowed to heal.  That’s right.  Nobody was allowed to heal during the previous eight months because there was an election going on.

It sounds to me that Mayor Ray Nagin (President of Orleans Parish) isn’t calling for healing.  He’s calling for the rise of the Chocolate City.
