Being Missional…
March 27, 2006 | 3:41 PM
Steve McCoy has a good post about letting our churches speak louder than our blogs, and being involved in living out a missional lifestyle as a means to change the SBC. I thought it was a great call to action, not to words. Moreover, I think he does a good job reminding us to major in the majors, not in the minors (such as politics). I am still reminded of the CS Lewis quote from Mere Christianity that I read the other day. Lewis says, essentially, that deciding what those majors are or are not is usually the biggest debate. It certainly has produced a big discussion at the Missional Baptist Blog (yeah I’m a day or two late mentioning it).
But better yet, he’s got a second post up offering suggestions as to how we can bring our churches toward missional lifestyles better, and how we can impact our communities and ourselves missionally. Read the second post and contribute if you have ideas. And if you’re completely clueless about what it means to be missional, my friend “The Fundamentalist” has a post offering several definitions at his blog Practicalithe(ology). So stop by there first.
