A Night on the Town…

Date October 30, 2005 | 1:31 AM

the robbie seay band opened for shane and shane tonight. shane and shane then opened for the david crowder band- in the saenger theater in mobile. 3 good bands. one beautiful place.

there’s that feeling i’ve had once or twice in my life now, that feeling i got when i was on a cruise down the hudson after performing at carnegie hall, that night on the city in DC after performing at the national cathedral… this feeling of… accomplishment, you’ve dressed up, got the tux on, the lights are bright, the sweat runs down your face in the heat of the lights… the pressure… the adrenaline… your heart beats harder, your body temperature drops… you’re freezing and sweating, and it’s wonderful…

and now you’re out on the town… still in that tux, in that penguin suit, and everybody knows that you just accomplished something… they respect you, even if just a little… that night, you ARE someone…

tomorrow you’ll blend in with the crowd again.

and always, it’s that feeling when i’m taking the tux off, getting ready for sleep, i’ve just performed with a group of individuals who’ve all felt something like what i just felt. it went so well. only two ladies fainted. you made it. carnegie hall is so big, so beautiful- how could it be so beautiful… hidden inside something so concrete on the outside…

and that feeling just before i go to bed… tonight, i was a part of something incredible. tonight, i was SOMEBODY. tonight…

sometimes i think back to that feeling.. when i’m on the other side of that stage… like i said, i’ve only been there a couple times, where it really mattered…

maybe i miss it.

maybe i don’t.

but i’m glad i’ve felt it.
