Draft Day…
April 23, 2005 | 1:58 PM
Some thoughts on sports.
Baseball: I think I’ve decided to wipe the slate clean. Yeah there are still teams I hate- the Braves, anybody on the West Coast (except the Padres, but that’s only because I went to high school with Jake Peavy), the Brewers, the Twins, and the Reds. It happens. But I have decided to change my allegiance to…. the Detroit Tigers (AL) and the Washington Nationals (NL). Yes, I will blaspheme and remain quietly in support of the actual playoff contenders… the New York Yankees (AL) and the Houston Astros (NL). These are my baseball thoughts of the day.
Hockey: I realized that I miss playoff hockey. I miss Detroit RedWings getting the trash beat out of them by Colorado Avalanche players (do you sense my allegiance?).
Football: Today is NFL Draft Day. My Auburn Tigers are projected to have 4 guys go off the board in the 1st Round. Ronnie Brown (RB) just went to the Miami Dolphins. Updates to follow. Carnell Williams, Jason Campbell, and Carlos Rogers are still on the board. I’ll post where they all went in due time.
[Update… about 4:00 PM, CT]
2. Miami Dolphins, Ronnie Brown, RB, Auburn
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carnell Williams, RB, Auburn
9. Washington Redskins, Carlos Rogers, CB, Auburn
25. Washington Redskins, Jason Campbell, QB, Auburn
