Pepperoni’s, College Football, and Russian Hostages…

Date September 3, 2004 | 1:48 AM

Class today wasn’t bad, but I was pretty tired and my allergies kicked in real bad this morning. I took a long nap today, then a bunch of us (about 10) from Lipsey (plus Brent, our missionary to Hamilton and some girls) went to Pepperoni’s and got our free pizza with the purchase of a drink. Woohoo. Good food too, surprisingly. Most of us came back and watched college football in the TV room after- Texas A&M got crushed by Utah and TCU-Northwestern was tied at 31 last I saw.

Today I got an email from Jesse in Irkutsk. Here’s the text of that email:

Dear Prayer Partners,
Below is a prayer request we received from a brother with the RBU –
We all pray for a peaceful resolution of the hostage situation in the city of Beslan in Osetiya, Russia.
Our pastor, of the Russian Baptist Union, Taymuraz has 5 children who are being held as hostages. His brother, Sergey, has 3 children who are also in that school.
The Baptist Union has tried to contact the city of Beslan but it was very difficult since all the communication with the city is now controlled by the authorities. The parents are now at the sight of the school waiting for their children.
Please, pray for these and the other people.

Fiodor,
Russian Baptist Union

OK. I removed the last names of said people, just in case, by some chance, some bad guys search for a name and boom there it is. Be praying about that. Also a former Lipsey Brother and his family live in the Bahamas and won’t be leaving, so you know what to do about that- Hurricane Frances begone! That’s all for now, for real this time. Peace out.
